It's that time of year again! I've never been much of a Christmas person... I can't stand the decorations or the corny t-shirts. I do appreciate it for what it is though, and I try not to humbug on everyone else's high spirits. I just wish I could find it enthralling like everyone else. I do like giving presents and such, though...and making holiday dinners.
Yesterday we had our office luncheon, and we did a secret Santa type thing. Only it wasn't very secret, as we had all told each other who we had drawn! We each had to put our name on an index card, along with our favorite color and a few things that we liked. I put down makeup, jewelry, and Disney villains...I felt bad for whoever got me, I knew that card wouldn't help much!
It turned out that my good friend Ben drew me..and that made me feel better, because I knew he wouldn't get me anything crappy or stupid. He was excited to have gotten me, too. We talk every day, so he already knew what to get me, and what I like. I drew Cheryl, one of my dearest and best friends. She had put down very specific things, like polar bears, knitting, and...playdoh? I had talked to her about that, and she had told me "I think it would be amazing to play with on Christmas morning!" She always makes me smile.
I didn't get her playdoh though, or knitting supplies. I took her to Fredericks of Hollywood, in the mall, instead. We had to get the gift for under $10, which made things difficult. But she picked out a cute little teddy that was $9.99. She tried it on and it fit perfect, so I got it for her. I popped it in a box and gave it to her at the luncheon...but she was too scared to open it in front of everyone! Haha, chicken ;) I was kinda glad though, since once everyone had seen what it was, they'd know it was from me. I'm the resident bad influence on my friends, even if they're all 10+ years older than me!!
Ben gave me the most amazing present ever. He had got me Sword in the Stone on DVD! It was very thoughtful of him, since I had mentioned a few weeks ago that it's one of my favorite movies, but I've never gotten it on DVD. I was so happy! I knew I could trust him with getting me something great :)
Well that seems like enough rambling for today... I hope everyone has a great holiday!
